UNHS offers the following Diagnostic Imaging services: digital X-ray, Ultrasound, 3D Mammography, and Bone Density scans (DEXA). We are nationally accredited by the American College of Radiology for Breast Imaging - Mammography services.
With state-of-the art digital equipment and technology, we are able to look inside the body to collect images and data so that our medical providers and care teams can make an accurate diagnosis and recommend the best course of treatment.

X-ray
A form of electromagnetic radiation, X-ray machines cause individual particles to pass through the body, then uses a computer or special film to record the created image.
Ultrasound/Sonogram
Also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, ultrasound imaging exposes the body to high-frequency sound waves to capture the structure and movement of bodily organs and vessels in real time.
Mammography
A mammogram is a low-dose X-ray of the breast that helps detect cancer that may be too small to be felt by a physician or patient. Mammograms are a part of regular preventative screening for women.
Bone Density Scans
A bone density scan is a medical test that helps determine the amount of mineral present in a bone per square centimeter.

Women & Children’s Shelter
The trained RNs work at the Montezuma Creek and Blanding sites, but are willing to go to any UNHS site and your exam can be scheduled within a 5 day time frame.
